Local investment in Wind Energy projects is particularly frequent in Denmark and Germany and maybe a key reason for the successful growth of this RE source.The citizen involvement has generated new income in rural areas, created jobs and in this way insured high local acceptance by offering a clear appropriation of the projects by local people.

The conference will present numerous local initiatives - carried out by citizen groups, farmers and local authorities.

This event will aim to highlight the implemented mechanisms, identify the barriers which have been overcome and how these practices can be applied in other countries. Its objective is to promote exchange of experience and knowledge in order to offer specific information about local financing schemes.
